Overview

Kamiagata is the northernmost region of Tsushima and the setting for Act 3 of Ghost of Tsushima. It is a colder, more isolated land than Izuhara or Toyotama, defined by snow-covered forests, steep mountain passes, frozen lakes, cliffs and a smaller number of settlements. The region is not merely the area around Jogaku Temple. Its scope includes the three prefectures of Jogaku, Kin and Sago, together covering the northern third of the main island.

The region becomes the principal open-world area after Jin escapes from Castle Shimura and reaches the north. Its central narrative purpose is to establish a resistance base, unite the remaining allies, weaken Khotun Khan’s occupation and prepare for the final assault. Kamiagata also contains the last main-game versions of most exploration activities, including three Bamboo Strikes, three Shinto Shrines, several hot springs, haiku, fox dens, Mongol territories and the final major story missions.
