Overview
Winding Mountain Shrine is a Shinto shrine in northern Tsutsu, Izuhara. It stands on a high, broken mountain route south of Cloud Pass and near the Fallen Outpost Mongol territory. The shrine is reached through a compact but demanding climbing course built around broken bridges, handholds, narrow rock passages and repeated Grappling Hook swings.
The reward is the Charm of Izanagi, a ranged-combat charm that gives a landed headshot a 40% chance to return the arrow. The shrine also awards one Wax Wood, a rare bow-upgrade material. Winding Mountain Shrine cannot be completed until Jin has obtained the Grappling Hook during the main tale The Iron Hook.
The shrine is a self-contained exploration activity rather than a settlement or dungeon. It has no residents, shop, quest-giver, enemy camp or permanent services. Its significance comes from the traversal challenge, the Izanagi charm and its contribution towards the base game’s Shinto Shrine collection and the Favor of the Kami trophy.
