Overview

The Mount Yotei Shrine area is a compact mountain route in Ghost of Yōtei, reached from the western side of Yotei Grasslands. It is not one of the game’s six principal open-world regions, but a distinct side area built around a largely linear ascent of Mount Yotei. The route culminates in a shrine, an altar and a duel connected with Takezō. It also provides one of the game’s most direct pieces of environmental storytelling about Atsu’s family and the mountain itself.

The area should not be expanded into the whole Yotei Grasslands. Yotei Grasslands is a broad regional map containing settlements, camps, fox dens, roads, rivers and numerous unrelated activities. Mount Yotei Shrine is a contained mountain route branching from that region. The route’s climbable path, cave sections, torii gates, ropes, ledges and summit structures form the practical boundary of the location.
