Overview
Otaru Hills is a named subarea in the Ishikari Plain, one of the principal regions of Ghost of Yōtei. It is not a separate main region, settlement, or DLC area. The hills sit within the wider Ishikari landscape, close to Otaru Beach, the Hikari River and the Matsumae Encampment area.
The subarea is primarily an exploration zone rather than a major urban settlement. Its known activities include a Pillar of the Fallen, an Altar of Reflection, and access to the nearby Hikari River special place. The landscape also forms part of the route network linking the western and southern portions of the Ishikari Plain.
The most important reason to visit Otaru Hills is the Pillar of the Fallen, which awards the Crimson Yokai weapon kit. The Altar of Reflection provides a Technique Point. Both rewards are available during post-game free roam, and the available guides report that Pillars of the Fallen and other exploration activities are not missable.
