Overview

Shiraoi Ainu Museum is not currently supported as a canonical base-game location in Ghost of Yōtei. The real place is the National Ainu Museum, part of Upopoy, the National Ainu Museum and Park, in Shiraoi, Hokkaidō. It is a modern museum and cultural park opened in 2020, situated beside Lake Poroto and roughly 500 metres from JR Shiraoi Station.

The closest verified in-game equivalent is not a museum but Husko Kotan, an Ainu village in the Nayoro Wilds. Atsu reaches it through the side tale The Ainu Kotan, and several Ainu-related characters, activities and collectibles are associated with the settlement and surrounding region.

The National Ainu Museum is located inside Upopoy, the National Ainu Museum and Park, in Wakakusa-chō, Shiraoi Town, Hokkaidō. Upopoy is a national centre intended to promote understanding of Ainu history, culture and contemporary life. The complex includes the museum and an open-air park with reconstructed buildings, performance spaces and cultural-experience facilities.

The name Upopoy means “singing together” or “singing in a large group”, expressing the complex’s emphasis on shared learning and cultural continuity.

Husko Kotan is the closest verified game equivalent to the requested location. It is an Ainu village in the Nayoro Wilds, reached during the side tale The Ainu Kotan. The village is a community and story location, not a museum or historical exhibition facility.

The settlement forms part of the game’s Ainu-focused content, particularly the storyline involving huci and the broader cultural and political pressures facing Ainu communities in Ezo.
