Overview

The Golden Temple is one of the most important civilian refuges in Izuhara. It is located in Ariake, south of Hiyoshi Springs, and functions as a safe hub for equipment upgrades, rumours, gifts and several character-related encounters. It is also one of the first places where Jin can consolidate the tools and armour needed for the rest of Act 1.

The Golden Temple is designed as a dependable early-game base. Unlike a small survivor camp, it offers nearly every standard equipment service in one compact settlement. Jin can improve his katana and tanto, upgrade bows, increase armour effectiveness, expand ammunition capacity, purchase supplies and exchange accumulated gifts for rewards.

It also acts as a narrative refuge. The people gathered there represent the civilian population attempting to survive the invasion, while the temple itself becomes a meeting point for Jin’s allies, rumour-givers and displaced residents. This is why the location appears repeatedly in early walkthroughs and why returning after major story events is worthwhile. Towns and temples can reveal new rumours as the campaign advances, rather than serving only as one-time shops.
