Overview
Atago Rice Fields is an open rural area on the Oshima Coast in Ghost of Yōtei. It lies near the northern approach to the region’s southern settlements and serves as the setting for two confirmed exploration activities: the Atago Bamboo Strike and the Lost Flight Sumi-e. The fields are also a useful route landmark when travelling between the Oshima Coast entrance, Tokuyama Hills, Iwasaki Farmstead and the southern Matsumae area.
The location is easy to mistake for a single collectible marker because most published guides mention it only while explaining one of those activities. It is better understood as a broader named landscape: the rice fields and surrounding hills north of Iwasaki Farmstead, south or south-west of the main Oshima Coast entrance, and west of the Tokuyama Hills approach. The Atago Bamboo Strike is positioned immediately north of, or just above, the fields rather than necessarily in the centre of the cultivated ground.
Atago is not presented in the available evidence as a town, fortified camp or major story hub. Its importance is practical and geographical. It contains a permanent Spirit upgrade, a cosmetic reward from a Sumi-e painting, and a conspicuous weather hazard that must be dealt with before the Bamboo Strike can be completed.
