Overview

Bamboo Thicket is a small but guarded point of interest on the southern coast of the Yōtei Grasslands, near the map label Tranquil Falls. It is easy to mistake the thicket itself for the whole objective, because the map marker identifies the entrance rather than the altar hidden beyond the enemy-held route.

The thicket is therefore more than scenery. It is a short infiltration or combat route, a gateway to a permanent progression reward, and a useful landmark when navigating the south-western corner of the Grasslands. The main altar is not inside the first bamboo enclosure. You must continue beyond the entrance, deal with or avoid the hostile group, and descend at the far end.

The location belongs to the Yōtei Grasslands region. It is not a subarea of Tranquil Falls, nor should it be merged with the separate bamboo route associated with the Flowing Water Fox Den. The Fox Den lies north of the Bamboo Thicket, and guides use the thicket as a positional reference when describing that shrine route.
