Overview
Yōtei Grasslands is the opening open-world region of Ghost of Yōtei. It becomes available after the Prologue and forms the southern approach to the wider Ezo map. It is a broad river-fed landscape of open grass, farmsteads, wooded rises, waterfalls, coastline and settlements occupied by followers of the Yōtei Six.
The region is designed as both a tutorial space and a substantial exploration zone. It introduces the game’s main activity loop, but it is not disposable starting territory. Three Yōtei Six camps, four Bamboo Strikes, four hot springs, three shrines, wolf dens, Sumi-e paintings, Altars of Reflection and other special locations are spread across the whole region. Several routes also lead towards neighbouring regions or to Mount Yōtei, which is a separate climbable side area rather than simply another landmark within the grasslands.
