Overview
Sarufutsu Lighthouse is a remote coastal landmark in the Teshio Ridge region of Ezo. It stands on the region’s eastern coastline, near the playable-map boundary and south-east of Shipwreck Shoal. The lighthouse is more than a scenic tower: entering it begins or advances a puzzle sequence connected with the Nine Tails, a hidden hunting camp and a route leading towards the Sanctuary Grove.
The location is easy to overlook because it is not presented as a conventional settlement. There is no verified evidence of a functioning lighthouse service, named keeper, shop, inn or permanent civilian population. Its importance is instead archaeological and narrative. Atsu finds a sealed interior passage controlled by paired fox statues, and solving the mechanism opens a concealed route beneath the building.
The name can also be misleading. Sarufutsu Lighthouse is not confirmed to stand beside the Sarufutsu River itself. Multiple guides place it on a narrow peninsula or coastal projection on the eastern edge of Teshio Ridge, with the river and other nearby landmarks serving as regional reference points rather than forming part of the lighthouse compound.
