Overview
Shrine Climbs are optional mountain activities in Ghost of Yōtei. Each begins at a trail marked by red torii gates and ends at a summit shrine. Reaching the top normally involves climbing, grappling, jumping between ledges, squeezing through narrow gaps and occasionally sliding down steep slopes. Praying at the shrine awards a unique Major Charm, while completing the full set contributes to the Body, Mind, and Spirit trophy and unlocks the Golden Mask cosmetic.
One of the 13, Azure Wind Shrine, is tied to the main tale The Oni and is completed during that mission. Sources disagree slightly on how freely it can be revisited afterwards, so it should be treated as a progression-sensitive shrine. The safest approach is to complete it when the story presents it rather than postponing it for later clean-up.
