Overview

Abandoned Village is a small settlement used during The Kitsune, a main tale in Ghost of Yōtei. Atsu reaches the village with Oyuki while investigating the Nine Tails. The location functions chiefly as a story arena and training ground rather than as a permanent hub, commercial settlement or independent free-roam town.

The village is easy to confuse with Deserted Village, a separate Yōtei Six camp in the Teshio Ridge region. Deserted Village is an enemy-occupied settlement that can be reclaimed, whereas Abandoned Village is the settlement visited during Oyuki’s Kitsune storyline. The names should not be merged in a location directory.

Abandoned Village appears after Atsu and Oyuki investigate a group of Nine Tails encountered on the road. Once the pair arrive, Oyuki leads Atsu up a short hill near the entrance to discuss what the Kitsune is doing. The mission then turns the settlement into a combat zone.

The village is therefore best understood as a mission-only or mission-led settlement space. The available walkthrough evidence describes the player following Oyuki into the village, receiving story dialogue, and then defeating the Nine Tails concealed throughout the settlement. It does not describe the village as a town with its own vendors, civilian population or upgrade facilities.

The name is particularly important for wiki organisation. Guides also use Deserted Village for a different location in Teshio Ridge. That site is one of the Yōtei Six Camps, is occupied by enemies until cleared, and becomes repopulated after its capture. Those mechanics should not be attributed to Abandoned Village without further evidence.
