Overview
Hokkaido, or Ezo as it is known in Ghost of Yōtei, is the game’s defining setting. Atsu’s revenge story unfolds across broad grasslands, forested valleys, mountain passes, snowy highlands, lakeshores and coastal settlements. Unlike Ghost of Tsushima, which presents a more straightforward island-wide campaign structure, Ghost of Yōtei gives the player several major targets and allows substantial freedom in the order in which regions and storylines are approached.
A smaller seventh area, Mount Yōtei, branches from the western part of the Yōtei Grasslands. It is not a full region in the same sense as the six main territories, but it has its own route and shrine content.
