Overview
Southern Coast is a small but unusually useful coastal locality in the southern part of the Yōtei Grasslands, one of the game’s principal regions and Atsu’s starting open-world area. It occupies the shoreline and cliff country south of Lake Kuttara and Tranquil Falls, extending around the southern side of Shirahige Falls and the nearby lighthouse. The locality is not a separate major region on the world map. It is a named subarea within Yōtei Grasslands.
Southern Coast combines a short stretch of beach with steep cliff paths, waterfalls, occupied settlements and several early-game objectives. It is easy to pass through while following the main road, but a proper search reveals a side Tale, a Special Place, a Pillar of the Fallen, a Hot Spring, a Saito-held compound, a bounty target and at least one nearby Altar of Reflection.
